So I may be purchasing a Lexus is250 , tomorrow pending approval from Lexus Financial. Does anyone know how harsh they are credit wise? I will be putting 2k down. It seems every automaker is a little different. I don't have the best credit, but then again I don't have the worst.

I also got approved through Ford Credit for a Lincoln MKZ with 2k down, similar pricing as the is250.

Currently sporting a 04 Lincoln LSE V8, which i plan on keeping.

Guess you'll find out tomorrow. Hope your pre-Approval on the Ford product doesn't negatively impinge a Lexus approval. In my view the less 'action' on your credit file the better. Pre-approvals and new credit applications just drive down succeeding applications. Good luck.

Ya i guess we'll see tomorrow.. I'm assuming that if they want to sell the car bad enough.. they will find a way to get me approved.

Wow, only 2000 down? Dang how much are your payments going to be? I put down 12000. That was the only way the payments where acceptable to me. Also I financed through a credit union where the rates were better. Thats was a few months ago.

Nice!

As far as credit is concerned, you can always get private financing through your credit union or bank is Toyota Financial Services isn't good enough. Even if you sign the papers through TFS, you typically have 7 days to transfer the loan with no problems/penalties.

Nice, thanks for your help. I am heading up to the "stealership" today around noon, So I will keep you guys posted.

They also have a 06 is350 for 31k with 10k miles. So I may be picking that up instead of an 07'.

I was told that everyone is pre-approved. When prodded, the financial lady told us that they approved an ex-con the day after he got out of jail and he drove it off the lot with no proof. Unfortunately, he was sent right back to jail a few weeks later and never made one car payment. I'm not sure how this validates the decision, but it was funny nonetheless.

My wife and I are both well over 800 credit score, so I wasn't concerned enough to pry.

Good luck!

Congrats, very nice. What kind of interest rate are they quoting you for 0 down?? Months??

Insurance places (telephone and online) are open 24/7, but maybe you have a specific agent you are going through. If you already had a car with insurance you are automatically covered for up to 30 days in most states. But maybe you didn't have a car.

Let us know how it goes next week.
