How long do you plan on keeping your car?
This pertains to IS250/350 owners. ^^^^The title pretty much tells it all. How comfortable are you with keeping your IS for a long, long time? Or perhaps you're thinking about trading it in already? It gives me an idea how good/bad this car is judging by how long people keep their car.

Things change.
I will keep the car for life if I pay it off.
I will trade in the car if I need a bigger everyday car, when I have a bigger family.
I will trade in the car for the IS-F if I decide that I want to be extravagant.
I will trade in the car if a coupe/convertible version comes out that isn't too pricey.

Mine will be paid off in about 9 months (can't ****ing wait!!). I plan on keeping it until 200k miles unless priorities change in my life and i need something different. But i don't foresee that anytime soon. I love this damn car!!

Lexus Champion
I'll use it for at least another year or so (bought it in May '06) at which time my g/f, (soon to be fiance's) lease on her TSX runs out. She loves my IS and has offered to take my car (it's paid off) and let me buy a new car.
My next ride will probably be between the IS-F/M3, or the top of the line GS/5 series. Or I'll just get another IS350 or lease a 335 and get the Rolex Daytona with the meteorite dial that I've always wanted.

I plan to keep mine for at least 4 probably 5 years. 10 months and 12,000 miles in, I can tell you that I am happy with my purchase and look forward to driving it for a while. I don't plan to keep it real long term however. Simply because I will want something new and exciting by then but not because I was unhappy with it.
Trust me, if you truly do your research in this class and understand what to expect with the IS350, you will be happy with it.

I'm very comfortable with keeping my 07 is350 for 10 years+...
of course, that was my plan with the 04 350z i had (40k miles and no problems) until some drunk driver rammed into it... twice...
on some survey lexus was deemed 2nd to have the least amount of problems
parents thought this would be a nice gift for a great fish yr in college... enjoy the luxurious-ness, speed is too perfect (quicker than the z, even if i havent taken it past 4.8 rpms...hehe 2384 miles only), technically sufficient probably for another 7 years, no upgrades required... 1 problem - rattle on drivers side dash (getting it checked tomorrow)
i think this is an amazing car (test drove the g35 and 335i) and will keep it through 3 more yrs of college, 4 years of med school, and 3-4 years of residency

I don't see why I wouldn't keep this car for the next 10 years, especially considering how clean I'm keeping the interior thus far. I would change it if unleaded fuel became today's regular if everybody is using some form of hybrids, or if safety innovations really came forward.
But if things pretty much stay the same, 8 to 10 years from now, my IS350 will be at the level of the previous generation TL in today's terms, which is pretty nice, I think. Think of how low the yearly depreciation will be on the car at that point, making the cost of ownership really low.

when the body style changes i will still keep the car, but when there are two body styles out that are newer than mine then i will get something else. no telling what i will be into by then.

i would probably keep it for a while, maybe 4-5 years. i paid for it full.
already checking out the M6 and when i do decide to get it, (which is about in one month) the 250 would be an everyday horse for me
