Default Standard Lexus audio VS Mark Levision

I am going to purchase an IS350 within the next 2-3 week. I wanted the X package, but realized it wasn't available with the mark levision system. So I am wondering how much better quaility is the ML system over the standard.

There are already a lot of threads on there about this topic. Im afraid all you are going to get for answers is to do a search...

Welcome to CL by the way!

I'll save the searching for the n00b....

ML is MUCH MUCH MUCH better than the regular... But coupled with the DVD playback its the *****.

Why wonder..............drop by your nearest Lexus dealer and listen to both of them. Really...........it's pretty easy to do. It's your ears so who cares what the rest say here. You listen and you decide.

For me..............the Pioneer standard version was just fine......for you it could be different.....enjoy

Haha another ML vs stock thread, dude, the ML is OF COURSE gonna sound better than stock its a UPGRADE after all. The question is, is it worth the extra money?

If you like the BOOM BOOM the answer is no. 300watts between 14sprks isnt something to take to a 'sound off'. I myself couldnt justify the added cost for the minimal return.

BUT...

If you dont care for da BOOOM. Yes its worth it just make sure you get the navi also, ML+navi=

the mark levinson is worth the price of upgrade. very clear sound, even when turned up. don't expect earth-shaking bass, but do expect a high level of sound quality in all ranges.

however, if you want full functionality of the mark levinson system (i.e. DVD video playback w/ 5.1 surround), you will need to match it w/ the nav.

ML is well worth it IMO. It's a great mid range system and is hard to beat for the price.

I've got the standard and am quite content with it. IMO, it sounds excellent, but I haven't heard the ML system so I have nothing to compare it to other than stock" systems on other cars.

i have the standard and i think it bumps pretty good for 13 speakers. Honestly i had 2 12" subs in my previous car and i never even used it cause the bass gets annoying sometimes.

I have ML i i love it. It really depends what type of music you listen to. Like llamaboiz said, if you listen to "BOOM" type of music then the ML is not for you.

The stock system is excellent compared to other OEM systems but the ML is amazing and worth every penny extra. I had an IS loaner with the stock system for a couple days and I was able to really compare. The ML is much cleaner with volume. The bass does not thump but it is so clean, it doesn't matter.

I have the standard radio with NAV, no ML and it sounds great to me - - not missing the ML (or DVD capability).

I love my ML. I probably would have been happy with the stock system, but i am glad that I paid the extra $$ for ML.
