What is the benefits for stretching tires other than it clears wide wheels?? Is there really a down fall for doing so? Im looking to do this for my IS.

I like a little stretch, but not too much.

What combo were you thinking of running?

It's definitely a matter of personal opinion. Some like it, others don't. I personally think a bit of stretch makes the car look more aggressive.

If you are talking about putting a narrower tire on a wider wheel, thus 'stretching' the tire...you might consider this on wheel width.

It may look 'aggressive' but ultimatley can take away from perfromance

As long as you don't go crazy with it, there really isn't all that much of a performance difference.

Personally, I have 255/35/19 and 225/35/19 tires on my wheels and I think it looks good, but I certainly wouldn't go any further.

Now those VW guys, they just go way overboard with it and IMO it looks stupid.

Im running 19x8.5 and 19x9.5 and was originally going to go with a 235/235 and 265/30 and was thinking of going with your size Belmont. Im also going for a sport/luxury not a vip/luxury.

The more you stretch your tires doesn't is take away the ride quality since you are going to have to decrease your tires profile? I might be wrong but I always thought this was the case when streching out tires.

Less rim protection if you get a flat tire.
Less Pot Hole protection.
Less Ride Quality.

Forgot the rest. But it looks good :P

It's official, I'm old. I have NO idea why anyone would buy tires that don't fit their wheels...that sounds completely retarded.
