One salesman I was talking to mentioned that he had heard that Toyota wants to make the 3.5L V6 268hp engine as the "standard" or base engine and eliminate other lower output V6 engines to cut cost. It makes sense to me and it would definitely address some of the low power complaints I hear from some IS250 and IS250AWD drivers. Your thoughts?

If it costs the availibility of the standard transmission, which I could all but guarantee it would, then it is a Faustian bargain for the IS250 buyers. Too high a price to pay!

No maybe about it. The EPA ratings are changing for '08. The 250 is changing from 24/32 to 21/29.

Whatever the number..............I consistently get 30 to 33 MPH on the highway cruising 70/75. Gotta love it.

I see you have a manual. The automatic has a higher mpg rating.

Well that's just lovely. How the hell is Al Gore supposed to sell books and movies if people aren't scared of something? The guy has to make a living you know.

Maybe they will bring y2k back

I agree...of course if the 350 came with a 6MT, I wouldve gotten that instead. But Im happy with the power. Not as much hp as the 350 but at least its not automagic...that would be too boring and not sporty enough for me.

Why not have your cake and eat it too - I have both a IS350 and a GMT-Master II . . .

The should just stuff the 3.0 from the 06 GS300 in there. Decent engine, nice increase from the 2.5 and would still ensure that the 350 was a higher performance buy with no confusion over naming.

Why wear a watch when you have atomic clock precision on your cell phone? (Besides, I beat the crap out of watches and jewelry in general.)

Ahh Lobux, thing is cellphones change every month, I guarantee your current cellphone already is outdated and passe (my Razr sure is). My swiss timepiece design (GMT) has been around for over 60 yrs with very few modifications, and is something that if properly cared for, can be given to my son, and his son, and his son . . .
