I thought you guys were a bunch of picky azz ******es at first. Now after driving around this summer with the windows up and ac, all I can hear is my freaking car "creak" around the area of (center console and where that console meets the dash). It's bad too, like every incline I go up or down or anything that would semi stress the frame of the car. Every bump i hit.
The reason why it bothers me is that thinking back on my previous cars and current other cars from many makers non of them had rattles/creaks as much as this.
current - corollas is beat to chit, but super quiet inside
isuzu axiom - super quiet inside
civic - had a back dash rattle but it was caused by bass from the box in trunk
acura integra - no squeaks even after 180k miles on it
ford escort - yep no squeaks.
So for people saying "all cars squeak" you guys are wrong. For a 40K+ car and it being a lexus this thing should be super tight and super quiet.
Now the problem is if i take it in or just turn the music up louder.

People in the other forums complains too (GS/ES) about creaks and etc. I dunno what Lexus did with this gen of cars... :\
Now that it's hot here in SoCal, my front dash (by the center vents) has been creaking A LOT! I need to stuff some thick foam in there to try to quiet it up :\

Mine does it as well on the center console, but only if the car is left out in the direct sun - once the car cools down the snapping goes away. At night the car is rattle-free over any terain. The issue is most-likely the expansion of the tight-tolerances of the center console, but I'm not sure it can be rectified w/out disassembling the entire center console and dipping the parts in lubricant to allow for slippage at the connections/assembly points.
However, as I said before no car is rattle free [show me one and I bet I can find them], and I'll take this minor issue over some of the other horrendous rattle-traps I had [Infiniti/Acura]; for the rest of the car is still tight and amazingly very silent at 4K mi.

it starts with one person posting about squeaks then everyone else starts to listen carefully for them because they have heard so much talk about rattling. that's why i'm not going to lower another car. once i do, i focus on every detail of the ride and even if it's not that much different from stock i think it has gotten a lot worse and can't stand it.

lol, you should drive my 04 G35 sedan. On the list of standard features, Infiniti should've listed rattles. There's always something buzzing or rattling around.
I'm looking pretty seriously at getting an IS350 within the next few months. I doubt it rattles as much as my car, but if it does I'm already desensitized to it.
