I was in mixed company at a dinner party this evening and the conversation among a few guys (most of whom I didn't know) drifted toward automobiles. One guy in particular (who proudly revealed he owned a Porche and a Hummer) made a point of asking each person what they drove.
When asked, I answered "A Lexus". "What kind?" he followed. "An IS350" I said. To which he exclaimed, "Dude, that's a girls car!... Give it to your wife." At first, I thought I'd be offended, but it honestly rolled right off my back. "Good to know, I'll make a note... ," I told him.
I've been so happy with my first month of IS350 ownership that not much of anything could get under my skin regarding this car. Has anyone else had their ISx50 referred to as a "chick mobile"? What kind of exchange did it lead to?

You should have said, "At Least I Don't Drive and American Car!!!"

I don't care if people think it's a chick car or not..and you shouldn't care either. Just ask yourself ...how does it feel to sit in the car? ride it around the block? etc? IMO, i feel good driving my car....i'm proud of my car...i dont need nobody to come and take away my fun like that. screw him.
Have a lil pride in your car/ purchase!
All i know is i got more girls coming my way ever since i got the car. that's the important part right? =P.

I wouldn't be mad at the fact that he called the IS a chick car... I'd just be kinda annoyed about the fact that he thinks so cool with his Hummer and Porsche that he has the right to make fun of others and their cars.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder....
I sometime think of my car as a "chick car" which is part of the delimma that I will be posting shortly. At anyrate despite that I love the IS. It's fun to drive and in my area I don't see many of them. But just to give you perspective a of "chick" opinion. I have been admiring the creased-tuxedo look of the (gasp) Cadillac CTS. At anyrate to me it definitly screams "guy car" to me. Then I heard a girl say she thought it was a chick car since the chick was driving it in the commercial. So what do I know...
Stay tuned for my post guys, I need some opinions in the next 24-48 hours.

I get **** for it too, out of my good friends two have BMW 3 series, one has an STI, one has an EVO, and one has an M3. They always give me crap for my car saying it's a slow car, a POS, a women's car, an old lady's car, etc, you just gotta suck it up. It'd be ridiculous to argue since they're not going to change their mind, and I know my friends are pulling my leg; but if somebody was bragging about their H2 and their Porsche I would just laugh. Since most people who buy H2s have some sort of masculinity problem or are making up for something, and along with having a Porsche with that... you know that guys got some issues with himself.

I think he mean't that "it gets the girls car" but IDK. First off this guy is bragging about his car and he has an H2 and a Porsche so apparently he has something to cover (ehm ehm ehm) but honestly I wouldn't let these kind of comments effect me at all. Just enjoy your Lexus.

I just started modding mine to separate the boys from the girls. :-)

It's definitely kind of a chicks car, but still manly enough for guys to own. And guys that own chick cars (the manly chick cars, not VW Beetle's) get the ladies. It's a win.
That douche probably had a Boxster, which is a nice car and is very fun to drive, but it's nothing to brag about. Now if he had a 911 GT3 and an H1, he would still be a douche, but he would actually have a legitimate excuse.
I hate this attitude.
