Is350 quarter mile time?
Hi, my parents are planning to buy a Lexus Is350 soon. Waiting the the 2008 models to come out. This will be my car in two years. I was wondering, what does it take to make this car a 13sec car for the quarter mile? How fast is it with just bolt-on? My last car was an 2005 rsx type-s and it hit the quarter mile in 14.5 with some basic bolt-on. I'm hoping the Is350 will be a lot faster.
O yeah. Hi, I'm new member on this forum.

That is Gernby's car. If I remember correctly it didnt take a lot of money, he has his own self-tuning ecu he made, but I could be wrong about the money part though LOL. I do 12.5s all day..............in my dreams!!! LOL Im waiting on a good bolt-on turbo kit.

Greg's car didn't take all that much money... It was mostly a bunch of simple breathing mods, lower-profile rear tires, and then his piggy-back ECU which I think he has said does not seem to add more than about 6-7 rwhp anyways.
Then there were the weight-saving goodies... Removing the front passenger seat, spare tire/jack/etc, and running on a very low tank.
But even if you don't want to go through all that effort, this is at least a mid-to-upper 13s car, bone stock. FI might pretty much be the only way to get it into the 12s, though.

HIS ECU doesn't do anything but take readings guys. He has the same crap on his car that most of us do. exhaust, and intake for somewhere in the neighborhood of maybe 10-13hp gain.
The true factor in Gregs 13.09 was the weather. Use the search function and type "density altitude" read caymandives stuff.
The 2nd factor on gregs is the weight reduction. no gas, no front seat, etc...Thsi was mentioned already by rocketguy3
You can search anywhere on the internets and see the 350 is a 13.xx car.
seriously if the DA is right any IS350 stock should get right around 13.5

My very first run at Sac Raceway with my bone stock IS350 - nav/lux/ML, spare, jack, and nothing removed was a 13.82. It's a 13 second car straight off the showroom floor. It weighed 3620 on the scale. It's a powerful car for a luxury sedan.

I have a Lexus HKS exhaust and Injen Intake my best time is a 13.566 at 102.4 I ran 4 times all between 13.566 and 13.590 times. Now that's pretty constant.. The only thing i did was 1/4 tank gas and removed my spare tire.

The IS350 is already a 13 second car when it's stock. So to answer your question, all you need to do is have fuel in the car and accelerate. Unfortunatly, the aftermarket for this car has grown rather slow. All I keep seeing is more intakes (which or often times worse than stock) and exhausts systems (which do help a bit depending on which one you get)
There is also a supercharger available, but the performance from that is rather pathetic.
