Default IS250 loaner car

Are the 2008 cars supposed to be out yet? All the cars I'm seeing on my dealer's lot are 2007's. My GX470 is in the shop and they gave me a 2008 IS250 with about 2,000 miles on the clock.

I really like the suspension tuning and build quality on this car. I'm tempted to pick one up.

How can I tell? The key says 2008 IS350 on the tag.

You mean the hand written tag?

No, it's machine printed, but I suppose there isn't a huge difference.

I asked the question because I thought it was too early to have a 2008.

Either way, it's a nice car. It still has dealer plates on it.

I wouldn't be able to tell. This is the first 2IS I have had any meaningful experience with.

Lets get some verification here, post the VIN number or better yet take a pic of it if you can. I (and a lot of others on here) would be very interested to know whether or not the 08s are really out already.

Okay, I'm thinking the dealer just made a mistake in printing out the key tag since I checked out the registration and the car was "first sold" June 15, 2007. They started making them in August, right? It's impossible that it's an '08.

Do you still want the VIN? I think it's probably irrelevant at this point.

Gotcha, yea thats what I figured. Good thinking checking the registration. I was ready to take it straight to the VIN!

Regardless, it's an awesome loaner. It beats the bright red Chevrolet Monte Carlo that BMW put me in (or the Impala from last time).

Can you really get these for $1,250 under invoice with the Premium Package and HID's in Northern California? $29,100 for this car would be a steal.

Yes it is and thats pretty crappy of BMW to do! Im actually surprised. I have never owned a BMW but I would have thought they at least would have made sure to have loaner cars that were other BMWs.

And yes you can get IS250s for up to 1500 under invoice. Dont talk to a salesman though. Go through Fleet and leasing. I paid 32700 for mine with nav which included the backup camera, bluetooth and much much more. Many of us paid about the same.

They do, but they run out of them quickly. It all depends on the dealership.

Sometimes, I can get an X3 or a 325Ci, but most of the time, they just pay for a rental from Avis. I am hoping for a 335i when I drop off my M3 for service today, but I am not keeping my hopes up. They have them, but they're rare.
