I dont like the new mirror, yea the vibrating all the time is gone BUT... now my fusa is right up my tsuna's butt and because of the angle of the mirror my fusa now faces towards me at an angle... i'll have to figure out a way to straighten it out before the next meet...

is there anything we can put into the joint to increase friction to make it less vibrate?

Default Fixed mirror vibration

FINALLY...VIBRATION MIRROR FIXED!!!

Took my car last weekend to the dealer and showed them the Service Bulletin L-SB-0072-09 for the inside rear view mirror vibration. I called them first and they had to order the parts (3 parts needed) and it took several days to come in, so I recomend you call to order the part at your dealer before going in.

Driving 70 mph on the turnpike with sunroof open and my ML system loud and there is NO vibration, it's really gone. It's nice to be able to see the cars behind me now. lol

While I was there they looked up in the system and said they had to do the pedal recall. So I had that done too. I even got a 2010 RX loaner so I didn't have to wait, I love JM Lexus.

Glad you're stable with the mirror!
On the pedal recall, did they do anything to reprogram the throttle response when both brake and gas pedal are pushed? My service manager told me unless I requested it NOT be done, they would, as part of the recall.

Yes, the service advisor said they did a software update for the brake assist (so that if the gas is depressed and gets stuck for any reason if the brake is depressed at the same time it will shut down the car), to be honest I can't even tell any difference in the look of the gas pedal change (I have the standard rubber pedals not the sport ones), I never looked much at it before so it looks about the same to me, may be smaller but no big deal. The car rides and performs exactly the same as before.

If Lexus issues a recall, it's in your best interest to have it done, at least for me I want it on record that I complied with the recall and my car is documented that I had it done.

Just an FYI: I had this done last Friday on my 2008 Lexus IS350. It seems to solve the vibration problem (at least in the short term). I hate the look of the new mirror though. It looks exactly like the mirror in this post: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/4708351-post1.html

My 08 does this too.
Do you think they will fix it?

Assuming you're under warranty still then of course they will

If you are under warranty, they have to. Doesn't hurt to mention and/or print out the TSIB and take it with you (but it's not required).

Good luck!

My vin # is JTHBE26257501**** Does it apply to my car? I have an 07 IS350, but I was somewhat confused by the PDF stating which cars are affected?

Well it depends on the last 4 digits. Supposedly if it's before 5328 you are affected. Having said that, I don't think I've heard of a 06-08 that is not covered under this or the subsequent tsib.

mine is already passed the 4year/50k bumper to bumper, Lexus Westminster refused servicing, would other dealer cover it? and the rep quoted me $8-900 for the part.

Yeah if you are out of warranty then it's my understanding TSIB's are your financial responsibility.

Another dealer might cover it, but I would say it's unlikely unless you have a long history with that particular dealer.

Just my two cents. Good luck!
