I hardly see any here (PA) - and I drive to/from JFK every week. I might see 1 on that drive. I have been purposefully keeping an eye out ever since I set my mind to buying one, and I have to say part of the reason I liked it is because not EVERYONE has it. The 3 series is like a ford where I live. (and that's our other car. ha.)

I felt the same way last winter when I started looking into getting one. I never saw any ISes a year ago, but April showers seemed to have sprung May IS250 AWDs because suddenly they were everywhere. I have to admit, I felt a little disappointed by that, but then what do you expect when you make an attractive car for cheap?

There are so many on the road here I don't think that I pay attention to them anymore.

I see probably 3-5 a week here in Denver and 75% of them are 250 awd's.

Interesting.. I've never been to CO. Is every car AWD there? I thought most cars don't have AWD, so it's hard for me to believe that AWD is that big of a deal when it comes to buying a car. Denver averages about 5 feet of snow per year so I was wondering if it's really that much different than here in New England.

Now that I think about it, I like the IS being fairly uncommon: it just stands out better that way.

In my area (Birmingham, AL metro area) the order of common Lexuses are as follows:

1) RX330/350/400h-too many to count, possibly as many as there are Tahoes/Yukons
2)ES350/330/300-bunch of these lugging around, but not as many as RX
3) LS460/460L/430-surprisingly lots of LS's around here, including the new 460's and 460L's.
4)IS250/350-around 5-10 a WEEK. Not common, but not a rarity either.
5)GX470/LX470-TIE. See these once in a while.
6)GS300/350/430/450h-pretty uncommon for a Lexus around here.
7) SC430-around the same level as the GS..pretty uncommon.

i see 2-3 every day, but thats just because i work around a lot of business parks, and its the same 2-3 every day. if it werent for those same 2-3 i think i'd see maybe one a day.

now the 250/350 ratio is crazy. I've owned my car for about 7 months, and been looking out for them for about a year. i've seen 2 other 350's. one is in my office park, and the other was random. 99% of the IS's i see are AWD 250's. Thats new england for ya. people make their car buying decisions because of the 3 storms we get per year, and the 6 hours thats the roads are not driveable....always confused me

Where I live, the population is 80% asian, and 20% other. You see a Mercedes-benz, BMW, or Lexus every give or take 10-15 seconds here. IS's tho are very popular in my community, but 85% of them are driven by women. =/
