you can also cut 3 wires and add 2 switches which will cost you a total of about $3.00...plus the cost of a playstation or dvd player

^^^ - You could do that and save a lot of money...my fear was that the system would short (as some have) and I would be out a few g's because it would not be covered under warranty and I wanted to save a buck...with this (GOD forbid) should something go wrong, I can take out the module and have it covered. Penny Wise Pound Foolish...I believe that is the saying...what matters is that what ever you choose to do makes you happy and is within your budget - personally, I dont have the time or the know how to "jerry-rig" the back-up cammera so this works great. Like I stated before, had I thought about this at the time I bought my car, I would have ordered one with the ML and paid someone to hack into it...but i didn't want to wait another three months for the car.

I am not sure, but I would imagine that you could add just about anything that has av in/out (ie. Playstation, xBox and the like). Plus if you add a splitter you could ad multiple(s). Plus, the DVD Player that I purchased has AV IN.

Ok my understanding is that you dont have ML correct? okay with that out of the way what all did you need to setup the system, list follows:

1. NAV TV 702 Module
2. DVD Player
3. IR Bubble (optional)

if that list is correct was were all of your installtion done professionaly? or were you able to just plug and play? i am kinda stereo literate

I been trying to do this to my car since i got it my son keeps asking me to play movies in my car and i havent found anyone successful to do it.

Thanks!!!!

Yes that is correct, I do not have the ML system.

You will need the NAV TV Module (www.navtv.com) they will either send it to you or they will recommend an installer in your area. I used 702 Motoring in Las Vegas.

A DVD Player and depending on the player you choose and where it is mounted the IR Bubble. That's it...NAV TV will provide installation instructions and it is all plug and play.

NOTE: This DOES NOT allow you to enter address while moving...just plays DVD's or other AV...

The nav tv model num you need is TOY01. It adds an a/v input to the factory screen by emulating the signal the rear entertainment system would. I believe it is activated by pushing the disc button twice. This piece is a much better solution than the back up camera hack if it is in your budget.
