My car is trying to speak to me!
This has already happend to me like 5 or 6 times since I got the car. It usually happens when I walk by the car or when I am washing it. Mind you I don't have the key fob on me or even near the car. What happens is the car sounds like the ignition was started and then it shuts back off. I think my car is a transformer! Sweet!...lol. All jokes aside though, what could this be and has it happend to anybody else before?

Everytime you shut the car off. If you leave the car alone for about I believe 1 hour, or so, it will do a self check. That's what the noise is. It was discussed before. I can't recall what it checks. ABS? Brakes. Something like that. Normal, scares me everytime still.

The noise you guys are hearing after the engine is turned off is the fuel system relieving pressure. The fuel delivery system maintains pressure for at least 5 minutes after the engine is stopped. It then returns the excess fuel back into the tank, making the exact same sound that you'll hear when you push the start button, but before the engine actually cranks.
