Default Thinking about switching out my 235/35/19 for 245/35/19....

I have an 8.5 inch wide front wheel and am running 265/35/19 in the rear with a 9.5 inch wheel. The front tire looks way lower profile than the rear tire. I have to have the front end sitting 1/4 inch lower to keep the wheel gap the same. 1/8 inch to me would be more acceptable, so therefore I am thinking about getting 245/35s.
Does anybody have a pic of what a 245/35/19 would look like on a 8.5 wheel up front?

I used a tire calculator that I found on the internet and 275/30/19 on rear matches up perfectly with 235/35/19 on the front. I think that is what most people are using.
245's may rub

If you run a 275/30/19 you are running a smaller diameter than stock, and I don't want to do that. 265/35/19 is perfect for me, and the way it fits the wheel is perfect too. My problem is up front I want a smidge more rubber so I dont have to lower the front as much to make the fender gap even, also I think that the 245s will provide a little better ride.
I know I have seen other people on here run that size tire with the 8.5 inch wheels, but I am unable to come across any threads. Anybody out there have some shots and feedback for me?

I used to have 245/35-19 in the front and it definitely rubbed. It was not that severe though. Now I'm running 235/35 in the front and 265/35 in the rear. Depending on how low your front is, you might be able to get away with it.

Let me get this straight, you want more rubber to fill in the gap correct?? Why would you do a 245??? You should be thinking of getting a 235/40, if theres such thing. 245 is just going to be wider NOT thicker.

Sorry but you shouldnt always believe what the internet tells you, look at peoples setup, when have you ever seen a 275/30 with 235/35?? Its usually a 235/35 and a 265/30 or 275/35.

Right now the front fender lip sits 3 inches above the top of the wheel lip. If I get 245s I will make the front fender lip sit 3 1/8 inches above the wheel lip. So basically I will lift the front 1/8 of an inch, so probably 1-2 turns on the coilovers.

I have Michelin PS2. Unfortunately, not many brands are available on that particular size. I have tried to search on tirerack and I believe Michelin, Continental and one other brand have that size.

A 245/35 would be taller than a 235/35 look at the specs on any tire manufacturers website. The reason being is because the "35" is a percentage of the width. A lot of people don't understand this. SO basically the height of a 275/30/19 would be approx. 30% of the width or if it were a 265/35/19 the height would be approx. 35% of the width.

Oh yeah the 245 is .3 inches taller and .3 inches wider. I think that is about perfect. The only thing I am concerned with is rubbing, but I used a heat gun to modify the fender well. I used to rub with the 235 now not at all, Unless I hit a huge dip going fast on the driver side it rubs a smidge because I am on that side. I recently turned up my damping to compensate.

sincityIS are you not dropped on the eibach kit? if not, thats your first problem. It's the perfect amount of drop and will take that gap out without looking all gay and rice. It's a very classy drop.

245/35/19 will actually probably look damn close to 235/35/19's you are running. BTW your 235/35/19's are damn close to the stock wheel diameter. You have more rim and less tire, but the outer edge from the center of the hub to the end of your tire is within 2% i think?? I did the calculations before I put mine on.

I am running 235/35/19 front and 275/30/19.

The ONLY thing I think I would ever change is maybe add a little more rubber in the rear and going with a 275/35/19 instead of the 30.

I think you are fine. I need to look at your wheels, I don't remember seeing them in the wheel thread.

I have tein cs coilovers. I had the eibachs and I think they sucked. The drop was too much in the front.

Do you have any idea what you are talking about?
235/35/19 sidewall height 3.24inches
275/30/19 sidewall height 3.25inches
THATS PERFECT!!!!
275/35/19 sidewall height 3.79inches
265/30/19 sidewall height 3.13inches

Most people are running 275/30/19 for a reason
If someone wants more tire ... buy a truck.
