No Wood Trim on all 2008s
Hey guys,
I have been visiting this forum for a while but never posted. I recently put a deposit down on a 2007 IS 250AWD but the dealer is having trouble finding one in my color combination and package combination. They have offered me a 2008 for the same price, however they told me that the 2008 will not come with a woodtrim they will only come with the aluminum trim. Has anybody heard about this or are they lying? Also since the 2008's AWD will be $200.00 lower should I ask for a lower price. By the way I live in the Chicago area. Any help would be appreciated.

If you care about that 200 bucks just negotiate to get an accessory (like pedals, door sills, ect) or tint thrown in, thats what i usually do when i want another couple hundred off without lowballing the dealer, specially since i usually tint the car anyway, its like getting a discount.

If wood trim is only offered in the luxury package, will the premium package no longer be offered? Also, it sounds like base leather with heated seats will be a standard. How will semi-anline with perforated/cooled heats be offered? In a standalone package or part of other package(s)?
Last question...anyone know how Lexus will be building 250 AWDs for the midwest?
Thanks a lot.

Where can you get a list of all the option? I only know that the price of MSRP is up $200 on all but AWD, but what about options and package and their price / contents?
Wood Trim is uncool, I would prefer Al over it if it is real rather than just painted plastic. =)

You can order through a Lexus dealership, but the wood trim is about $1500.
You can get aftermarket dash kit overlays, which are made of plastic with 3M adhesive, but they're never perfect and look tacky.
My suggestion: find someone with wood trim that want your silver trim, and exchange. Lots of CL members have done it already.

I would gladly trade for your wood trim, however I dont actually own the car yet. I should be getting it within a month so I will get back to you at that point to see if you are still interested.
