Is the birds eye maple wood trim real wood?
#18
It's veneer laminate for a good reason: tolerance to extreme temperature and environmental conditions. If the trim was solid wood, there is little chance of it staying in alignment, fitting properly and/or having it warp over time. It's better than any other wood I've seen in it’s class and certainly compares to other hi-end nameplates in some exotic cars as well.
I have the Dark Maple trim in my RX350, and I have to say I do like that more; but I also do like the red tint of the wood in the ISx50, as it hints of mahogany which is very rich and expensive looking - IMO.
