Ventilated Seats
this might be a tad off topic, but...
Does anyone know if other car makers, comparable to Lexus (like BMW, Audi, etc.) offer ventilated seats? this is looking like it might be a deal breaker for my hubby's next car, and so depending on how my IS goes he might end up getting one as well. But we kinda want something different. I have perused websites but can only find the Phaeton (VW) the offers it. That's a tad out of our price range.
So forget Porsche, Ferrari, etc. LOLOL. Just comparables, if you know of any. Otherwise I guess we'll have to be a 2 Lexus family.

i'm pretty sure they're available, but generally more of as a high-end option (7 series, S-Class, etc.). i would think the 5 series and E-Class probably have them by now too, but definitely still not an option on the IS' competition yet (3 series, etc.)

So only in the highest end of other's offerings, then. Which is why I couldn't find them when researching comparables. (It's not offered in the BMW5, for 2007. Maybe the '08s...)

yeah, wouldnt it be cooler if it was COOLED seats instead of ventialated...i mean when its 105degrees outside, this is true, and its hot as crap inside the car, the ventialited seats dont do much...because the air towards the bottom of the seats is so hott....they should of had it cooled....

turn the ac on and have them directed to the floor. There is a vent under the front seats for the back seat and when the ventilated seats are on it sucks up that air conditioned air.

yes!! i wish they worked better... ventilated seats dont do much at all... they work just like lexus said they would work but it really doesn't help.. if my passenger turned them on without me knowing, i wouldn't know they were on... seems like just gimmick for lexus to sell more cars...

When we test drove my Lexus, it was the last of 3 cars we tried out that day (that 95 degree day) and compared to the others we drove, and my Tuareg that has leather but no ventilation, it was a dream. My husband often finds himself leaning forward while driving because his back gets sweaty in his nice pressed work clothes and to him the ventilated seats were like having a revelation LOL. Granted they would be better if they cooled, but it's still better than nothing.
yeah, he'll probably get a lexus. Or he'll steal mine and i'll get something different. We'll drive the Infinitis but IMHO their body styling isn't as nice.
