Default Look what Happened to my Tires!!!

So the car has 10,000 miles on it. And like I mentioned in a previous post, i took it in for TSIB reasons. While they were changing the brakes, this is what they found with BOTH my front tires

the rears are fine. look like normal even wear. the fronts however looked like ***. the car does have the eibach lowring springs on it. but does the camber that the car has now after the lowering really effect the tires wear this much. i mean the tires are in great condition minus the outside wear. way toooooo early in this tires life to be replaced. what are the rest of you doing to compensate for your lowering kits effect on your tires camber. until they come out with a kit i am stuck replacing tires often i guess. is there a camber kit out for the ISx50 yet that will work.

That happened on my car, the inside of the fronts. I figured it was alright considering I had 25,000 miles.. but the back tires looked great still.

how long have you had the car lowered? When i had my car aligned after lowering it with the Tein CS coilovers, my camber was still within the factory specs, the only thing that was out was my SAI. I was told the SAI is not correctable but does not really affect anything and would not affect tire wear.

To me that looks like very premature wear but cant say for sure...

That does look like premature ware. Did you get an alignment after you installed your springs?

I've had my car lowered on Eibachs for over 15,000 miles, and none of my tires look like that. Since we can't rotate our tires, what I do is have them dismounted and remounted on the opposite side every 5,000 miles. Costs me about 40 smackers.

Mine is NOT lowered, and I had similar wear on the inside of my right front Dunlop at 12000 miles. I doubt it has a lot to do with lowering. I had the tow-out changed to toe-in, and have about 1000 miles on the new tires. I replaced all 4 with Michelin all seasons.

Don't do that with "directional" tires.

^You're mistaken. I said dismount, not rotate. It's perfectly fine to do this with directional tires.

Darn! That really concerns me. I just had my springs installed yesterday. Hopefully I don't have to deal with that issue once I have wheel alignment for me car.

It's still unnecessary. Get the toe set right and you won't have this issue at all. AMHIK.
