Did I get a good deal?
Hi, I'm new to this board, great answers on some of the threads. Anyway I went to the Lexus of Westminster and got a Smokey Grey Lexus IS 250 w/ black interior, Premium Package, and Preferred Accessory Package. All in all I got it for 30,387 + TTL.
The dealer also threw in a $100 gift certificate and anytime I need service, I get 20% off. What is the usual price for these? also if I need an oil change is it free for the first time or how many do I get? I also get a one time gas fill up. Did i get ripped off or is this a good deal? thanks

People always ask if they got a good deal, generally speaking $4k - $5k off MRSP ain't bad.
On a side topic, I hear good things about Westminster Lexus, but when I went there and looked around the lot and nobody came up to approach us for over 15 minutes. I just took my business elsewhere

How good a deal is depends on your perspective. If you are willing to haggle down to the last penny and would have been fine walking away with nothing, then yes, other people got slightly lower prices. But prices are different from day to day, so it's hard to make comparison sometimes.
If the price was something that was lower than what you were willing to pay for a car when you began the process, and you needed (wanted) the car at this time, then you got a good deal.
Yes, the first oil change at 5000K is free at any Lexus dealer, and the tank of gas is also free upon purchase. The 20% off service coupon is not worth that much IMO, because coupons are always out there, and the markup for dealer service is often greater than 20% vs a good shop anyway.
But I think overall you did fine.

I paid $35,820 for my 350 w/ Nav.....Sticker was $42,407.00 @ Park Place Grapevine, Tx
I think I got a better discount on my 2004 tahoe back in the day, but who knows. It's still going to take you 3-5 years to pay it off anyways haha!

Thanks guys, but yeah it was a real upgrade from my previous car a 1991 Honda Civic hatchback, so overall I am quite happy with my purchase. Monthly payment @ 450 a month for 4 years. This is my first time buying a car with an interest rate of 5.99% (is this good?) . Overall, driving this car puts me on cloud nine!
