Exclamation Somebody rammed my car. UPDATED with repair info and pics (no 56K)

UPDATE (because this thread has been resurrected) You can see page 4 for more details and photos of the repair

I just want to see what you guys think on whether they will fix it or total it. I was hit by someone trying to make a left turn onto the road I was travelling and failed to notice me in front of them. The rear fender was shredded in front of the rear tire and pushed into the rear tire making it undriveable, the back door was pushed out of of joint and dented pretty bad (leaving a gap at the top of the door for the rain to pour in) the front door is also dented to the point that I think it would need to be replaced. The front seats got soaked really bad from the rain and the side airbag deployed. I am hoping they total it because I know it will never be the same and the interior got extremely wet.
These are the best pics I could get today, the place was closed so I had to use my not so good zoom and no way to check the interior. Just made me sick to see it sitting in there.

Ouch ...... sorry to hear that. But at least you are walking and not hurt. Post some pics when you can and we can assess what the insurance company might do.

Total = costs more to fix than the car is worth

Go from there.

Hope your okay man don't worry yoru car it can be replaced. If your airbags open USUALLY the car gets totalled these days so i would say there is a good chance of it getting totaled.

Glad your ok but I highly doubt they would total it from the way you described the damage. Use the formula sjgIS350 gave you and keep us posted.

If the interior got really wet and the estimate guy is having a good day he'll right down enough things in the interior to get it up to a pretty hefty estimate...

Hard to say if they will total if without knowing if you have frame damage or not. Since the impact was hard enough to rip all that exterior 1/4 panel and doors and deploy the side impact airbags, it is possible it also was hard enough to bend the frame. If there is frame damage I'd complain a lot to get it totaled.

Glad youre able to walk away from it. Hope they claim it totaled. So you can get a brand new one lol. Frame damage sounds like a good possibility .

Default Update on wreck with pics (56K warning)

I tried to edit the title of the thread https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=302377but it wouldn't let me. I hope it is ok to start a new thread. My car was hit last night by someone failing to yield. I went out and got these pics today. The tow lot was closed so I had to shoot them with zoom thus no shots of the interior and possible water damage. I do hope they total it but if not I am going after them for loss of value and then trading it in on a new one.

Just makes me sick to see it this way

too many IS are getting hurt on this site. seems we see so many of our cars involved in some kind of wreck these past few weeks.

Glad that you are safe. i am no expert but i would say looking at that rear door and the damage that they may total the car. as others said in your other post it depends on if there is frame damage. either way i hope this all works out for you.

Ouch... I dont think you'll be able to plead a total loss . It looks like itll take a while to repair. I guess going with trading in for a new one wont hurt. Goodluck!
