Default Need Help in making decision. (TSX vs. A4 vs. IS250)

I am in the market for a car.
My choices are:

Acura TSX
Audi A4
Lexus IS250

Out of the 3 So far in looks I like the IS and In agility I like the TSX and as for potential I like the Audi A4. Three different car with three different criteria.

I know about these just as much as the paper and brochures. But in reality I dont know too much about them. So I figured the best would be to ask the proud IS owners.

The purpose the car would be driving daily about 20 miles and some weekend driving. I driver a 05 wrx. Its going to be for my mother.

So what do you guys suggest?

Thanks
Lawrence

Welcome to Club Lexus!

Of course the answers may be a bit biased, since this is a Lexus forum.

The TSX is a bit faster and the suspension feels a bit more sportier. Its more fun to drive since it revs higher. Since the engine is an inline 4 its not as smooth as the IS. Interior isn't bad but compare it to the IS and you'll see the difference. IMO the exterior is just too plain and awkward looking. Overall the exterior is boxy and it just looks clumsy.

I didn't even test drive the A4, it wasn't even an option for me. Volkswagen, Audi, Volvo and Saab are just so plain looking, both exterior and interior. It's like they designed them to be very discrete and mundane for people who don't like to stick out. I'm sure they have an excellent engine/drivetrain and fit/finish though.

I would go with the IS250. It may be the slowest of the bunch (by just a teeny bit) but it is the most luxurious and nicest looking of the bunch. Since its a V6, the engine is very smooth and quite. The IS will definitely turn heads, while the TSX and A4 won't get a second look. Overall the IS is just more refined.

Once you show your mother the interior of the Lexus compared to the others she will sign the papers right there.

I'll put it this way... my girlfriend (who knows squat about cars) rode in her best friends brand new TSX for a few days and when I picked her up from the airport in the IS, she got in and proceeded to tell me that the TSX sucks compared to my car, especially the interior.

I didn't even test drive the A4... there's just something about German reliability that scares the crap out of me.

Best thing for you to do is to take a look at each car for yourself. Ive sat in a A4, honestly, I got confused with the dash(didnt understand what this button does...or this one or this...). And it is very austere with all the black and red. Never sat in a TSX, but it is good value for money (cheapest to own luxury car I believe). The TSX is the only one of your choices to lack AWD. I also would go with the IS. Despite the fact I have a IS350. I think its a great daily drivers car. Interior wise, as everyone else has said, its very very well done. And simple to use.

And Welcome to to ClubLexus I see youre from NY
