Just wondering if the IS is up to its standards and bascially a no regret car.. Any of you owners wish Lexus would improve anything on the IS or is the car perfect.. This maybe my next car down the road so i wanted some feedback on both cars.. Is the 250 really underpowered compared to the 350? I know there's a big HP difference but 204 HP isn't that slow... is it? Thanks
Tony

I bought a 250 but sold it and bought a 350 a few months later.
I love the power, reliability, looks, everything.
I've had zero rattles or problems in 5000 miles with my car. Everything works flawlessly and IMO the car is designed just about 100% perfect.

No regrets for me. As far as it being a perfect car..... for me right now it it 99.9% perfect. The only thing I would change is the fact that when you reverse and the backup camera comes on it does not go to your previous screen when you put the car back in drive. Honestly though, if that's the biggest problem I have with the car than I cannot complain.

I have the IS 250 and yes it could have used at least a 3.0 L engine but other than that, i feel that the car is sport and luxurious... All of the features work great and the only thing i would change are some of the annoying nannies like not being able to type while moving, only little things... other than that i think bmw is
and lexus is

The car is definitely not perfect, but i don't think any car is. There are little things here and there that i wish were improved upon, but honestly, i love the car for what it is - Luxury with a bit of sport added in. I don't have any regrets purchasing it. I just wish it was paid off already!! lol

It'd be perfect if it was free...
There are obviously some compromises with the car here and there, but nothing that screams disaster. As with all purchases of this size, you better see for yourself several times. Sources of influence and decision: 70% you, 20% other owner's experiences, 10% car magazines/websites (for their test data and relatively unbiased comparisons of competitors, often in the same setting).

I have the 350 with sport. The two things I would change:
1. stiffer springs and softer struts
2. unless there is the possibility of damage, keep the tranny in the gear 'manually' selected. The paddles are only good for downshifts.

I love my 250 AWD! It could use a little more hp, but I'm happy. I would like an inch or two more head room - thats about the only thing I would change. I'm 6"1'. Bottom line: NO REGRETS!

I wanted the car for handling and the AWD is great.
Obviously you can't get the 350 in AWD, but hell you can't fly the we used to. The days of flooring it and going like hell with any safety are long gone, way too much traffic.
Brock Yates in his book "Canonball" relates that they could not run the race today because of population/ traffic changes. Back then I remember doing 120 on a brand neww stretch of 95 between baltimore and DC, skis flattened down on top, have you ever seen that stretch of road today!!!!!!
Give me the handling, the IS250 goes fast enough

I like: Comfort ride, classy feel and look, nice power and lots of options
Don't like: Overall shape to some extent (too round and bubbly, boot is too squash in which looks like a liftback rather than sedan). Boot doesn't open up all the way when remote released.
