I bought a 2006 IS 350 and it was really fast but it didn't have navigation. so then then traded up for another 2006 with navigation, but this one was much slower. i noticed it right away. it only has 20,000 miles on it and it doesn't feel like its been driven hard at all. does anyone have a idea why its doing this? it just had an oil change too. is there a setting or weird conifguration i'm not aware of. even when i flick that ect power button its still slower than the other IS 350 i had when that was in normal driving mode.

Were you pushing your old car the same day as you got the new car? If you were out testing your 0-60 times and such on a different day, most likely it's just weather related and you have nothing to worry about. This week has been really crappy with the heat and humidity. If you still have your doubts..take it to the dyno and see what kind of numbers you can get and like others have said, resetting the ECU can't hurt. You may also want to:
1. Ensure premium fuel is in the tank
2. Air filter is clean

whats a way i can deff tell that i was not re-badged? is there something distinctive on the 350 that would tell it apart from the 250 that i would be able to see?

You can also look at the brake calipers. The 350's are black, and the 250's are silver.
But it seems pretty unlikely that you got a 250... The suggestion that you might not be running premium fuel right now seems like a little better bet, unless you've already refilled the tank yourself.
