Thanks for the pics... I heard a rumor that the '09 will have an upgraded coin holder that holds 2 quarters instead of 1.

Thanks for the pics Javy. Even when I wasn't expecting much from the coin holder it still managed to disappoint...

The lip is installed as part of "dealer prep". Don't know why.

Thanks for the pics, the coin holder looks cheap to me, I don't like it sticking out like that, weird looking. I also agree who uses coins?

Hard to judge the seat backs with that pic, need to broader shot, I'm sure we will see more later.

I am however suprised that Lexus is using the same style rims for 3 years in a row. Isn't that odd? except for the finish the wheel is the same for 2006,2007 and now 2008 for the IS350. They could have at least redesigned the style of the rim which always makes a car look different.

The coin holder looks just like the one in my friends 2005 Corolla. I bet it's the exact same one. It's probably 1/2 the price at the Toyota dealer.

Does anyone know if they changed the illumination of the backlighting color [green] for '08...? It seems odd that the color of the illuminated scuff plates would go from blue to white just out of no-where.

What about for those of us living in cities where you have to feed the meters? I can't go anywhere and park without having to feed a meter, or if I use bills it's to pay $30/day for a lot.

I've been wondering that since I first heard about them having the coin holder, as my daily driver is a corolla. FWIW, the coin holder is a PITA.

Seems like a good way to invite some petty thief looking for a quick buck or two for a 40ozer to smash that window and make a run for it. I'd be paranoid to leave 50c out in the open like that. Never know how desperate someone is for money!!!

it looked like the main part of teh seat back was leather and not plastic. so is the new rear seat design basically the same exact seat except they replaced the plastic "pouch" with a leather one?

The coin holder cheapens up the car. I put the coins in the cupholder under the armrest since it seems to be the best place for them. I'm digging the new finish on the rims though.

Yeah, your right I guess this was added to the IS for those hungry meters, however it just looks tacky to me, it would have been nicer if they tucked it away so it doesn't stick out. I also agree, there are crazies out there who will bust your window for a freakin dollar or 2 in change if they see it.

I know on the earlier BMW's they put the coin holder under the armrest it was a circular half moon shape dial that flipped up when you wanted it and layed flat and out of site when you didn't want it, it had a place for quarters, nickles and dimes, spring action push then in and slide out when you needed a certain coin. Something of this nature would have been nicer. But for me it's no big deal cause I don't use coins. Just giving some ideas.

I also hope it's made of some type of rubberized material cause when you turn a corner hard with 2 or 3 coins in it (not full) I sure hope you don't hear it clickling together coins against coins sound.
