Pics of 2008 IS (merged threads)

Thanks for the pics Javy! I agree with all of you who said the coin holder is a joke. It does not fit the car at all! Cheap! What in the world was Lexus thinking? While the new wheel finish is a nice touch, I'm still so-so on the style of the stock wheels.
I noticed the VIN number in your pics. The last four digits... 1049. Correct me if I'm wrong, but that indicates this IS was the 1049th off the line for the 08 model year. Come on Lexus and deliver mine already!!

The VIN number doesn't indicate build number.
Actually, the build number on the car should be found on the last line of the VIN drivers door jamb plate/label.. or at least thats where it was on my IS300.. I had car "#131" back in 2000 when I picked on my special order 2001..

The 5 year run of the IS300 had the same standard 5 Star - 17x7 wheel design all 5 years.
(Although some special models had different wheel designs & finishes)
The only difference was the Regular Silver finish was free while the "Graphite Polished Wheel Finish" was a $400 option..

The lips are removed and stored in the trunk for transportation. That way they don't catch on the ramps of the transporters when being moved around. They leave them off at the dealerships until the cars are sold incase another dealership requests that stock and it needs to be moved again.

If it's like the one on the corolla, it's not rubberized...hence why I said it's a PITA, as it does make a coin-against-coin sound.

I hope we hear something this week now that people are actually starting to pick up their 2008s and drive them home. Seems like the cars made it to western dealers' lots before the end of August, so I'd think the cars will arrive at the east coast ports this week. I believe at this point our dealers should definitely know where our cars are and when they are expected in.

Now that some of you have taken delivery of the first 2008s, can you tell us if there are any differences to the 2007s that weren't publicized? Besides the coin holder which apparently no one has been able to locate yet, is there really that much more back seat leg room? Anything different about the navigation system besides the change to the initial "I agree" screen? Inquiring minds want to know. Those of us on the east coast have yet to see a 2008, so you guys out west are lucky.
