Default Well damn, Need Info on Wheel Repair

Well my right rear rim got some scratches in the lip today. I went through one of those automated carwash earlier this morning and the rails which you drive into scratched the wheel.

It was my first time taking my car through this gas station car wash and didn't even think about damaging my wheels. I always thought there was rubber on them to protect the wheels. These were just metal tubing. Argh.

Anyone know roughly how much it costs to get a wheel fixed? They're three piece so I just need the lip to be fixed.

ANyone think I have a chance on getting the gas station to help fix it?

Usually those type of washes have a disclaimer stating they are not responsible for any damage. Considering the height of your sidewalls and the height of the rails, am surprised you took your car through it. The only commercial washes I use are the touchless washes that you drive through yourself. Can not help with info on repair costs…sorry.

I would say it depends on the rim and how bad it is... I had some 3 piece racing hart M5 rims on my civic at one point.. i got a dent in the lip.. I don't remember how much I was qouted to fix it.. but I ended up selling those rims off because it wasn't worth it getting it repaired

Well I'm going to try and look in on those disclaimers...

If I purposely run my car into the washer or a part of the car wash, sure, I don't expect them to pay for damages to my vehicle.

However if my vehicle is damaged as a result of a flaw on the machine, then I'd expect them to fix the damage.

If that disclaimer shields them from having any responsibility, then I'll add a disclaimer on my car stating I'm not responsible for any damage I may cause to your vehicle. IE, accident.

A bent wheel can cost about $150 to fix and finish.

A scratched wheel can be polished for about $75.

A brand new wheel can be bought for $150 on-line.
