Default Stupid Cd Changer!

My stupid cd changer is stuck and wont change cds. I called the lexus dealship and apparently they dont warranty it b/c its stuck because of the burnt disc. Something to do with that the burnt disc are thicker then the purchase ones.

They said i have to remove the stereo and manually take out the cd myself.

Anybody have these instructions? Its annoying having just radio =(

Not to mention the car -explicitly- supports burned CDs. The dealer is just trying to avoid work they're responsible for.

They wont repair it cause of a burned disc that cause a problem? Sounds like a pretty crappy excuse.

If using a burned cd's voids in the warranty it should say so somewhere in the manual. I'm pretty sure it doesn't, so make the dealer show you where.

No dont say anything, just say you have a problem with disks not changing and you'll like to bring in the car. Thats all. If they ask what kind of disks, just say i dunno its stuck...

Mine was replaced by the dealer in Austin, when it did basically the same thing - wouldn't work at all. They never even asked about what kind of disks. I don't know if Canada has the same kind of warranty as the U.S..

do you have those sticker labels on your burn CDs? according to lexus those may cause CDs getting stuck in the changer. Its best if you write on your CD directly than to paste the label on.

I don't know how different the Canadian manual is from the US, but on pg. 198 at the bottom of the US manual it says:
  • Compatible media
Media that can be used for MP3 and WMA playback are CD-Rs and CD-RWs.
It goes on to say that playback may not be possible with all media, but how can playing a cd-r void the warranty if it's listed as a compatible media?

They're just lazy and will try to find any excuse not to do the work. There was something on here about aftermarket intake was the cause of some headlight issues, which IMO is completely irrelevant.
