this is probley a stupid ? but i figure id ask to see what people think. i got a letter in the mail from lexus sayin its time for my 5 month/ 5k serivce. im sure most people dont go to the dealer.. anyways i only have 1 k and the car is 5 months old. im thinking it is a waste to go and spend the money.the car hasn't givin me any problems for the few miles i have drove it. what is everyone else thoughts?

5 months and only 1k miles? Do you have another car, because ive had my IS for 4 months and i got nearly 4k miles down.

i thought you get the 5k service free from lexus? thats what my dealer told me

The 5k service is free, so you might as well have it done at the dealer. If it were my car, I'd wait until it actually has 5k, or until one year, whichever comes first.

I just did mine....you can take it to ANY dealer and they will honor that.....
