This info is all subjective when you are trading in your car.
Dealers play many kinds of tricks and mind games with you when you trade in a vehicle.
One example.
The dealer gives you a never heard of deal on your purchase. But, on your trade in they low ball you. In reality you arent getting this never heard of a deal on your purchase because you are losing money on the trade in.
Its not good to trade in a car because you have to do double the negociating.

I was going to say the same thing. Is the price something they quoted you with the trade? Or on the sticker? If its on the sticker I'd personally say its a really good price, but you'll need to get a good deal on your trade to still not get hurt in the end.

Here we go again with another 'brand new' 2006 IS still on a dealer's lot.
If true I'd question him why he hasn't sold a brand spanking new 2006 IS a year after the 2007's have come out. Be careful. Something doesn't add up.

hmm..thats true, but 10miles on it..still consider brand new? or used?
well..i know what my is250awd is going for ..if they do low-ball me on the trade in then forget it...i never told them about my trade in yet..so 35.5k is the price without trade in..

I used to sell new and used cars for a Nissan dealership and I agree that anytime you trade in your car you need to become both a car buyer and a sales person. The dealership is looking at a bottom line profit margin weather it comes from the selling price of the new car or they may agree to a slim (mini deal) on the new car if they stand to steal your trade meaning to buy your trade in way below its actual value. It is usually best to sell your car on the public market at the price the dealership would (retail) and attempt to then purchase the new car at the best negotiated price. If selling your car on the outside isn't an option do your best to separate the two deals (selling of your car and the buying of the new car). Also know what both cars are worth so you can recognize a retail for retail or whole sale for whole sale deal both of which would be fair.
One common mistake I would often see is the buyer who would state "I'm paying cash" A dealership may agree to a smaller profit margin on the sales price if they believe they can make money in the finance department. That being the extended warranties, inflated interest rates and after market equipment being some of a few and all of which are also negotiable. Always let the dealership think you are clueless to the financing and in the end cash out or disclose your finance choice. Hope this helps and good luck.

Maybe they mean 10 miles since the repairs. It would be very unusual to find a new 2006 IS350 with those options. Are you sure it isn't a "demo" with ten THOUSAND miles?
