Default Oil Change for $10.95 in labor from Toyota

Just came back from the Toyota dealer from having oil changed. I provided the oil and the filter and they changed my oil for $10.95. Took them 20 mins.

I did my last oil change myself(I wrote the IS 350 DIY oil change thread) and if you don't have the time(I didn't this time), $10.95 from the Toyota dealer is a great deal in my opinion.

Just thought you might want to know other options than doing it yourself and not having to pay Lexus an arm and leg. Plus you know exactly what oil is going in your car.

Note: This price does NOT include the price of the oil and filter required, just in case someone is not clear.

I also went and have my last oil change done at Toyota. I was charge $26.90. I provided the oil and not the filter. So the filter cost 15 dollars? Oil change also came with free donuts and coffee and bottle filter water.

I usually change my own oil too but with 4 compressed/broken vertabrae's, its impossible to do it so I take it to the toyota dealer 2 minutes away from me and they charge me $15 for labor. I provide the oil and oil filter.

My brother usually changes my oil since he works at Toyota. I don't think it cost that much either. Does anyone have a clue of what type of oil Toyota uses?

I wanna know too. I think Lexus dealer use some kind of oil grade similar to Synthetic but comes from Japan. If Toyota uses Synthetic that should be good enough otherwise ask them.

True... only on request will they put in a blend for an additional cost. I had that done on my 10k oil change with them(and my last oil change with them).

I'm planning on taking my car to Toyota as well for oil changes since it's only 5 minutes away compared to nearest Lexus dealer is 35 miles away. Toyota shouldn't have a problem with changing oil/filter for IS250 correct? Are they familiar with that engine compared to the IS350 which is similar to the Camry V6 engine? Also will they use the same oil that Lexus's use for the oil change or should I recommend them to use something else? For those that buy their oil and filter ahead of time and take it to Toyota dealership, what brand do you buy and from where way/cost?

Even at $20, that's not a bad price. I got the oil changed on my beater pick up at Walmart and it cost me $25.

I provide the oil and it usually comes out to about $20 at Toyota. So about $60 total for an oil change since I get synthetic oil.

I took 6 bottles of Red Line 10w-30 to Toyota to have them do an oil change in my Supra. They kept the oil and put Pennzoil conventional oil in the car. I discovered this because I ran it my Red Line usual 10k miles, and completely coked the top end of the engine. Red Line does not coke, and had never coked in the 100k miles I'd been using it in my Supra.

I will never have anyone change my oil again.
