My brother wants my IS350. Should I give it to him?

Phil - normally I would say sell it to him for 30k but I agree with NEO here, you'd be undermining the point that your parents are trying to make by forcing him off the ES.
I know how you feel being an older brother and wanting to take care of your lil bro. I too was contemplating something similar with my little bro since he's in med school and despite having car problems once a month he gets straight A's but my parents bought him a car instead so his car issue was covered.
I wouldn't have had a problem giving my car to my little bro because he is working hard in med school and kicking butt at it. But if he were hanging out and driving our parents' lexus for a year while looking for a job and finally finding one that affords him a budget of 30k for a car, I would encourage him to pick up a USED lexus from someone else. This is assuming that you want to keep your IS350.
If you really want to upgrade, then go ahead and sell the car to him, pick up a '99 camry as a beater that you can sell easily when you find the new car that you want.

I think i would make the trade to my brother...personally having done it before (not with a lexus tho)...its a win win situation. Brother gets a car he wants and knows how its been taken care of, you get a new car and peace of mind knowing it went into good hands.
The only reason I wouldnt do this is if my brother was expecting it for free or was mooching of my parents and being a bum.

i think alot of people on here think you are going to GIVE as in let him have your car for free
he is SELLING his car to his brother for 30k, its a good deal for his brother, but he is not giving his car away, his brother has a job now and wants to buy it from him.
I would do it, the smile on his face would be worth it.
ALTHOUGH...i would suggest if you are going to be getting another lexus to maybe take some of the mods off it that you can use on your next car...maybe that will make the sale even easier
