Not to put a damper on things, but if you buy the new beamer, you will trade it back in for another IS in less than a year after all the electical problems the BMW is likely to have. Granted they are great cars, german engineering has never allocated enough electrical longevity within their vehicles.

I chose base IS350 over loaded IS250. Well, not exactly...I added XF (X-package with sunroof delete) and PA (Parking Assist). I am very happy with my choice.

My previous two cars were an '86 Porsche 944 Turbo and a '94 BMW 325is. Compared to the BMW, I get about the same MPG but gain handling, over 115 hp increase, greater safety and vastly increase my odds for a trouble free motoring experience.

When I chose the BMW I had the option of an economical 318is or a more powerful 325is. I chose correctly and drove that 325is for almost fourteen years. A similar choice exists in choosing between an IS250 and an IS350. I know I would not have been happy with the IS250 and would have wasted money by trading prematurely.

If I purchased an IS250 and wanted to add big brakes front and rear that cost would equal the difference between an IS250 and IS350 and I still would not have the engine , so for me it was a no brainer.

I subscribe to "less is more." I'm not into loading up a car with things that will break. When I really need NAV, my Garmin fits and functions perfectly while resting in the front cupholder. And the smooth leather, for me, is preferable to perforated. My two cents.

Ultimately you must consider your own personal wants and needs. Happy hunting!

Wise choice!
I was presented with the same dilemmna a couple of years ago 250 or 350?
Even to this day, I feel like I robbed them getting a base 350 for 36K. Paid off now

The navigation was the only thing I initially regreted not getting. But since getting the Nuvi 760 which works better, is more flexible and etc...GARMIN, it has made the whole base 350 choice come full circle again. It is the best bang for buck.

PS: you can get a good vent mount off ebay for Garmin.

IS350=Daily driver

like others have said you can add the other things. i think the only option my car doesnt have are the headlight washers. honestly i hardly use half the stuff in my car. this is what they found me so i took it. 350 in some areas are harder to come by.
