I tried search and ended up more confused on this issue than I was before.
The question is, Should the front, center, and rear differential oils be changed regularly? If so, then what frequency?
After doing the search, I found everything from just check it every 15K to change it every 30K or every 60K. I find it hard to believe that this fluid would never need to be changed with all that shearing it is exposed to.
Any recommendations for which is best? Mobil 1, Redline, Royal Purple, etc.
Also, I am not confortable with 'lifetime' transmission fluid, even Toyota's "WS" fluid. Does it make sense to change the tranny fluid every 50K or 100K miles as a preventative measure?
Any advise on either would be most helpful.
Thanks
