Default Should I let the dealership wash/wax my car before I take delivery?

My black/black IS250 will be here in 2 weeks (still on the boat). I've read some horror stories about dealerships ruining the paint by washing/buffing/waxing. Should I call them up and tell them not to do the dealer prep? The dealership is Magnussen's Lexus in Fremont, CA and they have a pretty good track record so far.

From my understanding, the dealer prep includes:

removing interior plastic wrap
removing exterior white film
washing, buffing (if needed) waxing

Do they have to do anything under the hood (remove anything, add liquids, calibrate)? I'm afraid If I request them to do no dealer prep I might be overlooking something more serious than removing interior/exterior film.

I vote no as well. My Obsidian IS250 was had swirl marks when I received it but I got the dealership to pay to get it detailed to get the swirl marks out.

However, on a black car, swirl marks and scratches (noticeable ones) are inevitable.

Congrats on the new IS250!

So I should call them up ASAP and tell them to not wash the car or do any type of exterior prep? It would be ok for them to prep the interior right? I don't see how they can damage the interior by prepping it.

So once I get the car, it will probably be dusty and may have some watermarks (due to shipping), should I take it to Phil at ADS Mobile to do his $80 wash, minor polish, wax?

let them know as soon as possible not to wash it. As for the inside if they do clean it up, make sure to check every possible stain of marks that may appear. Sometimes they use some blue liquid to clean the window that may stain yor carpet but since you have a black interior, it would be hard to see anyway. Just lookout for scratches and marks.
