Southern CA - IS350 Car Shopping Experience(s) *South Bay Lexus was the Best!!!

First I'd like to give Gloria, the Internet Sales Manager of South Bay Lexus:
a VERY BIG THANK YOU for making this happen!!!
She gave me everything I wanted and everything I expected in a Lexus buying experience!

2008 IS350
Smoky Granite Mica w/Black Leather
ST - Sport Package
VN - Mark Levinson Nav Pkg
PA - Park Assist
Z1 - Preferred Accessory Pkg

Special Order placed with Japan 6/20/07, confirmed in July it was slatted for August production, confirmed on the Boat beginning of Sept, ported US Soil 9/10, PDI'd by South Bay Lexus Tech & in my garage ALL by 9/13..
Total wait time from start to finish: approx 2 months & 3 weeks

Also requested, NO DEALER PREP, NO WASH, NO WAX & NO HOLES in BUMPER
ALL completed as requested!!!

Enough talk here are the pics...











I Peeled the paper off last night (man that felt good!)... It still needs its 1st wash & wax!!
Still haven't had the time to get it all done yet...

I was completely BLOWN AWAY when I 1st saw it.. and even more while I drove it home!!

Here are some Quick additional differences I personally confirmed for the 2008 IS350 changes.

1) Confirmed, I like the coin holder

2) New Re-designed Engine cover clips

3) Confirmed Nav "I agree" selection is history (now a 5 sec Caution Screen)

4) Confirmed New Map DVD Data: ver .07.1

5) Confirmed New Leather casing to hold Owners Manuals. Pouch style with expandable/strecthy material on sides with invisible magnet.

6) Confirmed NO Illuminated White Scuff Plates in the Sport Pkg (just same as prior aluminum)

7) Confirmed IS350 has the standard Liquid Graphite Finish Wheel & Re-designed front seat backs (although not listed on the sticker or website)

8) Un-Confirmed: "Backlighting added to outside mirror control" - If they are talking about the actually switches, they don't light up in a Full dark cockpit. So I'll keep looking for a definition to this one...

Woweee, I can only imagine how excited you are! Theres nothing quite like getting the exact car you want.

I'm about to receive my 08' IS250 in 2 weeks and I'm also going to request they don't do any exterior dealer prep. From my understanding, the dealer prep includes:

removing interior plastic wrap
removing exterior white film
washing, buffing (if needed) waxing

Do they have to do anything under the hood (remove anything, add liquids, calibrate)? I'm afraid If I request them to do no dealer prep I might be overlooking something more serious than removing interior/exterior film.

Congrats on the new IS350. I wish I could have peeled the paper off of my IS250 when I got it. Must feel like a kid on CHristmas eve.

I think he means the removable leather binder that holds the owner manuals, not a pouch somewhere in the car.

So 2008 owners have to wait 5 secs for the caution screen instead of touching "I Agree"? I guess I am so used to touching "I Agree" once I start the car that it's become less of a nuisance.

Congrats - I have almost the same car. I wonder if the nav disc is updated on mine it would replace the "I agree" with the 5 sec caution screen.

If you have the old Navigation....dont update it...otherwise you can't do the overide for using the navi while driving...

ohh... a 08 ride... niceeee~~~ nice packages to i kinda wish i had all the little tech goodies stuff that i really wont/dont use, just so i can tell the unedumakated what i have have them say, wow. Even thou they still say 'wow' reguardless BUT damm if you didnt get the 'ones' to have... im soooooo kinda jealous.

Woohoo...congrats Joe! Time flies doesn't it? It seems like it was just yesterday we were talking about the beginning of this whole experience. This is the perfect predecessor to the 2001. Congrats my friend!
