Don't you hate that when people slam your IS door hardly? I told my father not to do that since I have my own car! I asked him why and he reply that because your car is a Lexus and it's should be solid... I am speechless

So do my brother in law, everytime I give him a ride and when I drop him off he slam the door no matter what... WHY??? I never do that even I know the car is solid!! e.g. a Benz/BMW

I tell this to my gf everytime she gets out of the car! Whenever shes pissed at me she slams the door intentionally! Makes my blood boil!

Friends slam the trunk unnecessarily hard. Lady friend was pretty good about it though, she said i slammed the door on her 328i though.. haha

Bingo, the IS door is pretty hefty so a lot of people assume that you have to really give it a swing for it to close properly.

this makes me upset too. im usually pretty easy on people who have never rode in my car before. i hate it when people giving me a funny look because i park my car FAR from anyone else.

Slamming the door harder than necessary will cause more vibration to the internal parts of the door. Given time, the vibration will wear out the parts and you'll have rattles like no tomorrow. Older cars tend to have this problem.

For my car, I just let the weight of the door close itself.

Ya, in thoes vehicles you have to lift the door w/your legs 1st, from the bent/mis-alligned hinges and then slam.

The doors in the ISx50 close so nice IMO, minimal effort and they sound solid - if close w/minimal effort.
