I call BS on the CLS500 and 05 M3 what kind of race was it? Are you one of those people to do a quick pull pass the car put on flashers and tap brakes and claim victory.

Well I never said anything about those cars at all...I typed in 03' (2003) BMW M3 ...And no I am not one of those Doush Bags who put their flashers on after you do one quick pull. It was a highway run from 55mph-120mph...I don't call that one short run.

You might want to do some research before you try and call someone out...

CLS500 Specs - Horsepower (hp @ rpm): 302 @ 5,600
Manufacturer Curb Weight (lb): 4,050
0 - 30 (sec): 2.3
0 - 45 (sec): 3.9
0 - 60 (sec): 6.2
0 - 75 (sec): 9.0
1/4 Mile (sec @ mph): 14.70 @ 98.6

It's heavier, has less horsepower and has a slower 1/4 mile time and 0-60 time... I call BS about you knowin your stuff

A few weeks ago, someone in a Porsche tried to race me. I started to accelerate just to have some fun, but my wife said "Uh, no."

Wow do you guys bookmark these stats I swear everyone here pulls magazine numbers. I give you props for actually running your car unlike some here that use road tests figures to claim victories.

Wish u were here I would race you, you can pull up the stats on my 1992 SC300 if you want ha ha, like the last guy I raced I don't know my 0-60 nor 1/4 mile or hp/tq figures

All things being equal, our 350 is ALOT of car for the money. ALOT

With that PC statment behind me, I had a great time running with a caymanS on the toll roads a while back. My only "performance mods" are intake, grnd kit, lowering springs, CF hood, (only like 4 lbs lighter).

It was farily even, at speed, up hills the porsche weight gave it the advantage, but rolling off the light onto the freeway, I nailed him.

Your original question was "the IS 350 is faster than what cars?" Yes ? So it's a simple case of HP to weight ratio. Statistics , based on acceleration from 0-60 / 0-100 ,etc. The drivers skills and abilities are irrelevant .Anyone agree ?

I enjoyed reading the preceding comments. When I had my 98 M3 albeit convertible every pocket ricer would race me at the stop light. Sometimes one looses advantage when you hesitate to see if the dude next to you really wants to race. I know My IS 350 is faster than the M3 and GS430 and a few other cars but I no longer do it that often because most boy racers do not know that they really have a challenge with the IS more so than the M3. Two, I also have a car seat for my 9 month daughter in the back seat; I can imagine the 911 calls people will make ( I was originally looking at the RX suv but the dealer did not like my low ball offer for it and suggested a test drive in the IS, my pregnant wife did not know how to play good guy, bad guy.the rest is history.) The real secret to winning close races on a deserted streets is always have less than a 1/4 tank of gas. Weight is the speed killer. By the way I am a tripple by pass patient over 50.

I'll agree on paper the IS350 beat those cars listed. On the actual street or track the drivers skill can go either way.

LOL. . . im the kind of driver that will take off on you, slow down, give you another chance & then humiliate the Fawk out of you!! & thats when im in a chill mood! Now as far as my races with the CLS, I took off on the guy @ the light & he never caught up 2 me for about 3 miles & then he just shook his head & gave me the thumbs up, now the M3 was FUN, in & out of traffic. lane for lane, he got stuck for about 15 sec, I took off on him I hit 120 & kept gaining speed & he never caught me!!! so no im not the kind of gay dude who does that pass by with the flashers crap!!! & if ya dont believe it next time im in B-more, in about 4-5 weeks ill look ya up & we can race!!! Lata!!!

Ok you had me until the last line. If you're really a memeber of the zipper club, how many stitches and what's your coumadin dosage . . .

Are you dreaming about these specs or what are you smoking? These mitsu 3000/stealth are slow, let alone a 15 year-old car. Best you can do to 60 is about 10+ seconds. 178 mph? are you sure it's not 78mph? Get real!
