these cars aren't very "modable" Most of the mods even for the 350 will give you very little numbers. I don't think you can even go forced induction on your car, but I'm not sure. If you don't lose too much, just go 350. But you will pay for it in crappy, crappy gas mileage.

Err... first of all, you don't goto a lexus stealership with idea of buying a 'sports' or 'aftermarket tunned' cars... Seriously thou, if it took you a yr to figure out your car is slow dont worry about it. If it took you the frist day to figure it out, THEN worry. Just save up for something faster, if you didnt miss the performace the first 12 months, you can wait.

First car AND first mistake. Even if you purchased every engine performance mod available, the performance difference wouldn't be noticeable (physically noticeable anyway).
Regarding the gas mileage ... I get over 32 MPG on the highway with my 350. Doesn't seem too crappy to me.

First and foremost, don't add things. Start taking some of the weight off: get rid of the spare (make sure you have something like AAA though), change the seats from heavy electronic seats with fans to racing seats, taking off many of the plastic covers and such, changing to racing wheels, etc...

I'd also hold onto it and make your next car a fast one.
One tip: DON'T DRIVE THE 350!!! You'll just get more pissed that you didnt get one. Dont bother modding...a supercharged 250 would probably still lose to the 350. Who knows....but maybe.
in fact....dont drive anything else until you sell your car. If its nicer and faster you'll hate it for being fast, and if its cheaper and as fast/faster, you'll hate it for being half the price and still as fast/faster than your lexus

I have had this gripe with this car from the start, i went from a GS400 to the IS250 AWD. I love the looks of the car, but the performance is near non existance. so what i do rather than drivng really fast in my GS400 i drive really slow in the IS250. I let it be seen, call me grandpa on the road, but man at least everyone is getting a show. And now i can give chicks the stare! But i always have the feeling of trading it in, i have test drove more cars but never make the plunge into getting rid of the IS250AWD. Its nearly paid off, and its a good feeling. Also i haven't got a speeding ticket in the IS250 yet! Knock on wood. Good luck!

My Z06 got 30+ on the highway and it is a 400+ HP car.
I baby my car ALL of the time trying to see if it was just me coming from the Z06 causing the crappy gas mileage. I have been "cruising" it as you guys say and it doesn't help. I have never gotten over 405 miles to a tank and that is pushing it way pas empty. I drive 95% highway and baby it in the city.
You guys explain it to me if I'm wrong, but I figured since it is a 17.1 gallon tank and if there is a gallon of gas or so hiding under the "E" that 16 gallons times 28 miles per gallon would get me about 448 miles per tank. Maybe I'm looking @ this all wrong. Someone explain it to me if I am.
