Default Sigh... Stupid Friends...

So yesterday was a bad night for me... i was driving couple of my friends around to find some stuff to do... and i met up wit a couple of friends in town. i had a friend sitting on the front passenger side and for some reason he opened the door when we was talking to a friend when he was standing right in front of the door. and he so happened to be holding his skate board! in hand... so he scraped the board on the door handle and now there are scratches on the door. now im wondering if there is any way to fix this?... also will "touch up paint" work or r they just a waste of money?

Need help please!!!!

touch up paint really doesnt work that well for scratches just chips . it really depends how deep the scratches are if they a just clear coat scratches they can be buffed out.

Sometimes the marks that you see are actually in the top most layer, the clear coat. It's a shallow layer, which is why people suggest the fingernail test. If the scratch is deep enough to catch your fingernail, then it's probably deep enough to have gone all the way through the clearcoat and into the paint. An auto body shop could certainly fix it, but some detailers can fix it easily if it's just a clear coat issue.

Call the dealership and see how much a new door handle costs.

I had a clearcoat scratch. My fingernail was barely caught in the scratch and I tried some of that Meguiars Scratch X stuff and it was gone. Have any pics of the scratch?

I had similar thing happened but from my own stupid mistake of trying to fix overspray and scratch my own car. What ever you do don't try to spray clearcoat yourself. The way I got my scratches out was buffing out. My scratches were very deep, in fact clearcoat was gone. If you buffed it out clearcoat near the scratches will cover up the scratches. I got it done for free by a local body shop. Took like 10mins. The guy was nice enough to do it for free.

Most will buff a panel for $20-50 per panel depending on what you need them to do.
