Default Navigation Warning Screen

If you're wondering what the new navigation warning screen looks like, check out the navigation tutorial on the Lexus web site: http://www.lexus.com/models/IS/featu...avigation.html.

Thanks!

Now, the big question is if '06/'07 owners can get that Intro Prompt if they change to the '08 Nav DVD...

Yup, that's the $300 (or whatever they charge for the '08 update DVD) question!

On an 08 if you shift into Reverse while the Intro screen is on, it will bypass that into the backup camera. If you shift into Drive before the timer finishes, it will go back to the intro screen.

Just an observation.

'06 and '07 do the same. Hit reverse before the Lexus logo goes away and you immediately get the camera, not even the warning screen. But as soon as you go to drive, you get the warning and have to agree to get anything useful out of the nav.

Congrats on the new car. But take that sticker off just below the CD slot. That's the first thing I did. I don't need instructions or warnings in how to load the CD player.

I kept the CD player sticker and the warning sticker on the glove compartment on until I got my plates. Don't ask me why, I just wanted to pretend like my car was one day new for as long as I could. I'm retarded that way.

I wonder if the nav bypass is BACK in the 08 disc? (Doubt it, but has anybody tried?)

Go to volume screen:
Press upper left corner
Press lower left corner
Press upper left corner
Press lower left corner

Sewell Lexus, a clublexus sponsor, usually offers like $40 or $50 for your old disc when you buy the new one... They give a good price on the new disc on top of that as well...

I think the promo price is $260 - $40 rebate for your old V6.1 (2007) disc... So $220... Much better than the normal dealer price of $300.

If it works, it will bring up a service mode screen. Just press and hold the "override" button for a few seconds until it beeps and changes color. Then exit from the service mode screen, and enjoy entering destinations while driving.

Like Technique, I'd be very surprised if this feature were back.

Not too bad, and thanks for the info, but i could easily sell mine on ebay for over 100. 260 from sewell minus 100 is a clean 160. Not too bad.
