For the most part, I play it safe and fill up at the 1/4 tank mark. Every now and then I go to 1/8th tank and my husband has a hissy if he sees it so low.

Whoa? 40 miles per gallon??? How are you calculating that one rolling in neutral?

I'm certain I could get 40 MPG on the highway if I REALLY needed to. I've averaged over 35 MPG for 100+ mile drives with mixed highway / city at 60 MPH with the A/C on.

I've averaged between 30 and 31 mpg on several extended highway trips driving between 65-80 mph, probably averaging 70 mph. I don't doubt I could get somewhere between 35-40 mpg doing a constant 55 (although I don't have the time/patience to do that.)

The 350 gets awesome mileage for it's size and output.

I think I might hold the world record for the lowest amount of miles left after zero.........

I RAN OUT OF GAS!

My light was on but I guess due to a busy schedule, I lost track of how long the light was on and completely ran out of gas.

I don't even THINK about going to the station until my meter says ZERO. And usually, I drive a couple more times to and from work before I actually fill up. I've filled up 16.5 gallons (no topping off) a couple of times - but by then, the needle is past the "E". I guess I've gone as far as 30-40 miles past 0. I figure, the less often I go, the more time I save (assuming I never have to walk of course) and time is money. Now, I get pissed when I see my wife's car with less than 1/4 tank.

I usually fill up from 10-25% of the tank...cause I get 16-17 mpg... I don't like worrying about running out of gas...

Already discussed in detail in this thread. No worries, Toyota in their infinite wisdom has put a plan in place to protect us from ourselves (and save themselves from warranty claims!)

Thank you for the link to a very informative thread Lobuxracer.

I've driven 20-30Km's (15-20 miles) after 0km several times.
