Default IPOD Question

I bought the aux cord for the ipod and whenever i hook it up to my ipod i have to keep the middle compartment open. I can't close it because the Ipod cord will get caught. Is there a way or a hidden hole that i can put the cord through so that my compartment won't always be open? Thanks

i assume u want to leave ur ipod out of the compartment, from my expenience, u should able to position the cord around curve of the gap (corner) and still close the compartment completely without catching the cord.
