Spikes Spider Snow Chains
Does anyone own a pair of these snap on snow chains for their IS? If so, how well do they perform in the snow?

There's a Sport version that can fit 255/40/18 tires but it is $400.
Thanks!

Again, they use a woman to demonstrate something my wife will never do! Wrong approach.
Back to the topic, $400 for a set of chains is pricy; also a very pricy way to mess up your wheels possibly! I konw it works from seeing other similar products demo, but I rather get a set of 16" steelies with snow tires and a $30 set of chain... or just go with rental car.
Is that possible to roll with style in snow? Do I really care about style if I am driving in snow? Maybe IS is a wrong car for snow.

If only 16's would fit on our car! I think 17's are the smallest option. But I agree for 400 bucks you are almost half way to buying a package with rims and tires, and those could go a little faster than 30mph. My only problem is justifying a full package of rims and tires for 800 bucks for the 3 or 4 snows we get a year that would slow me down. May also consider a rental car.

pick up some used 17's and put on a set of blizzarks or Nokian http://www.nokiantires.com/en/winter_passenger.aspx tires on them and you won't have an issue. better then buying chains and these will last winters.
