I'm in VA and I know we don't get these and if so I imagine on AWD. Looking for an is250 RWD auto. Ideally Tungsten Pearl w/ Black interior. My boss wants me to get some pricing ideas and possibly a purchase if I can get out of having to special order. So just wanting to know where I should inquire? So Cal? Florida?

You'd have to find a dealer that would do a dealer exchange with a dealership outside the region which sometimes they are a little hesitant to do because of the distance.

Well that's why I'm trying to find dealerships that would actually possibly carry this. I'm not worried about local dealer that would exchange as we would pay to have it delivered to us.

My situation was much in the same, that combination would have to be a special order. The luxury package alone isn't common, even more uncommon with the VN package added on.

What dealership did you go through? I've been in contact with a number so far and have only had 2 actually give me an initial offer to work with. I guess since it's something they don't have in their inventory they are just brushing me to the side to not deal with a special order. I've e-mailed a few from recommendations on here that have good feedback with actually placing the special order unlike some dealers it seems. So just waiting for some more offers so we can move forward to haggling

A dealer in Texas. Each dealer is different, smaller dealers a lot of times won't wanna special order a car cause if you back out, they're stuck with it...

I could be mistaken, but I believe that if a dealer gets a car from another dealer on a transfer the receiving dealer does not get the holdback either, so there is some downside for the dealer. Along with the freight costs involved it often does not make sense for a dealer to pursue this option.

I was a newbie in August 2006 when I sauntered into a TX dealership looking for an IS350 with Sports Package, ML/NAV. I did not realize that ML is not an option for the TX region, and that the Sports Package is rare. But by sheer dumb luck the dealer had done a swap with a Colorado dealer and they had one sitting on the floor with ML/NAV and Sports Package. What the basis of the swap was I do not know. Sometimes you get lucky.
