Default Stock headlights not bright

Hey everyone. New to the forums here just bought my IS. I had a Acura TL and a G35 and both of their xenon lights were both a lot brighter than my IS. I have a 06 IS and I swear the xenon lights on it are barely any brighter than a regular halogen set. Is there a reason for this? I would appreciate any help!

Thanks

be sure you have xenons, becuase by the looks of your username, most 06 models didn't come with hids unless you had the lux package.

Yes, aiming them upwards will make them look brighter.

If they buzz a little after you turn off the car, they are the HID's.

On my 06 IS350, it had the halogens and I thought they were very bright. From a distance they even resembled HID. I see a lot of projector halogen that look like HID's from a distance.

My 07' IS350 came with the HID's and while I'd say they are very bright, they don't have any blue at all to them that I can see.

To me, they look more like those very bright white LED lights.

Cheers,

Old Oiler

Well I just called the dealership cause the car only has 19000 miles and the brakes are making noise and about the headlights and the guy who i later hung up on told me that is not true at all about them being pointed to low and got a attitude with me. And before I hung up I asked when a loaner car was available to have that stuff looked at and a oil change and he told me no that I didn't buy it from them. Needless to say I have to call another dealership

Finding another dealer might be a good idea - if not too inconvenient. But, first, I'd have a little chat with the service manager at that dealership. He should know about any service advisors copping that sort of attitude. The brake noise/dust TSB is supposedly valid until 2 years after the in-service date. Adjustment of the headlights should be covered under the B2B warranty. Of course, you'd have to pay for the oil change. No dealer should refuse service because you didn't buy from them.

Unless he got a 06 Sport or Lux package, he has just halogens. And if it is indeed HIDs, the aim is pretty low from the factory but I adjusted mine with the Xenondepot 6000k HIDs and it lights up the road better now.

you don't have HIDs. I have an 06 w/ premium and nav and it doesn't come w/ HIDs stock.

Maybe your car is equipped with the latest technology HID's that have a yellowish tint to them. Mine did. At least that's what my salesman told me!!

islexus06 ... does your headlight turn when you're turning ? I think all hid came with the AFS? (<--not sure ) so if his projects or whatever in there doesn't turn then it's not HID... correct?
