Default Programming the HomeLink feature...

I was curious to see if anyone has success with this function.

I tired to program it, but it didnt work. Im going to check the garage opener unit to see if that might be it. I would love it get it working so i dont have to fiddle with my garage door opener..

My garage clicker wouldnt program either..

You have to park in the garage and mess around with the red button under your garage unit while holding that button in the car lol. a 2 person job but my brother and I got my 06 is250 and his 05tsx working.

We just did this 2 days ago and it was a PITA! Follow the instructions closely in the owner's manual. Then try and try again until the garage door opener works. We cleared the codes and redid the process for all cars and clickers for over an hour before it worked. Our garage door opener is only a year old and made by Genie. In the past, it seemed that Chamberlain openers were a bit easier.

Something so simple really shouldn't be such a PITA. Good luck!

hope this helps:

1. hold outer buttons (1,3) at the same time for 20 seconds until blinking
2. press button 1 and garage door button at the same time, hold both until it blinks fast
3. press red button on garage motor assembly
4. press slightly hold button 1 a few times

You forgot a step.
5. Repeat above steps for an hour or more until it works!

And for some others...

6. Reprogram all of the Homelinks and clickers because you held the learn button on the garage door opener for a few seconds which erased the memory, as opposed to just pressing it quickly to add a new device.

I programmed mine pretty easily. What I did is hold the button I want to program to set the control on. Hold it until the light blinks. Once it starts blinking, don't let the button go but instead put the control next to it and press and hold the control with it. I think the light should turn green or stop blinking, I can't remember and it worked. It took less than a minute. Good luck.

Three words: FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS! Honestly, though, they detail exactly like it needs to be done.

I've had no problems programming mine, and I've had to do it twice (once due to mirror TSIB being done). The only "hang up" that I had was after the mirror was replaced, the homelink didn't seem to want to accept the code. So, all I did was reset the homelink (hold the outside two buttons together), and then try again, and it worked first time.

Don't forget that if you have rolling code, after you program the homelink with the remote, you have to hit the "Learn" button on the actual opener and then press the homelink button a few times until the door is operating.

I have a Chamberlain garage door opener with a rolling code. The instructions in my 2007 Lexus manual omit this first step, I repeated steps in the manual at least 6 times before I did a search and found that I needed this additional step Lexus didn't document. After I did the reset it went right through.

The instructions from Homelink does include the extra step.

I just did mine again since i did the TSIB for the rear view mirror.

This process if you have a rollin code for your garage opener:
1) press and hold 1 & 3 button on the mirror to clear any programs set
2) press and hold the remote close to the mirror while pressing the # which u want to set the garage to open w/ for couple seconds then
3) press the button on the garage opener you got like 30 secs once you do to go back into your car and pressing the memory # 2 or 3 times.... your garage should work now
