Is the 30k service a joke?

I was quoted $480 for 30k service, or $720 for the "delux" 30k service where all fluids in the car are drained/replaced.
Since I had them do the brake pad TSB and they were replacing the brake fluid anyways (which shouldn't break down at 30k miles and a year old), I did the AC/engine filter myself and paid them $50 for the oil change. Nobody should ever need to get their delux 30k service unless the car was driven by an old lady and it's over 7 years old. Mine was 10 months old hitting 30k miles. What a joke.
