well, i subscribed to the tech info toyota site and studied all the wiring for the non nav and nav, i wil tell you this, if you are NOT comfortable taking apart your dash, then dont attempt this. you also have to take out the glove box to look behind it to get to the CAN computer and speed sensor and tap into those wires. and if you want to do the back up cam, u need to also tap the reverse wire on the drivers side.

the over head console is just held on by 2 screwed and you have to pull down as its held in by clips. then run the wire from behind the nav unit up the pillar to the overhead.

I'm asking because I bought the whole nav unit from Lexusaudio without the ML DVD changer so I assumed that I'll be getting only the Nav screen plus the clock bezel below. But I've seen pictures here people taking out the unit with the whole thing attached and not separable.
And just out of curiosity, how much is that costing?

make sure they know what they are doing, this is something that is very precise as they need to tap 1 specific wire out of a lets say 40 pin harness. i triple checked before i turned on my car.

The nav unit cost me about $2500 that includes nav screen, steering wheel controls, backup camera, mic, and all plugs and adapter. With the installation I'm looking about $3000 total. More expensive than buying with factory build but I'm out of options aside from aftermarket.
Wow, 2500 is a lot less than I thought it would be... Thats pretty good actually. Only a little more than an aftermarket set up. Good job man!

yeah, he did. i know it sounds very intimidating but its really not, just study the wiring for a bit and you'll be okay, you'll be suprised that most of the dash comes apart after jsut taking out like 4 screws
