Default Chrome stock rims?

I found a place that would do my stock 18" rims in chrome for $400. What do you guys think of this price, and do you think it will make my car look nicer. I have a black Lexus.

It'll look great for a black IS!!! (Someone should post a pic... )

$400 is a great price. Most chrome exchange companies charge $600 for the service, and you still have to ship your old wheels back to them...

Hey ItaiannDud.....i have a black 350 with chrome rims...same as urz...im pretty sure from some earlier posts that ur close to me...u showed interest in the supercar sunday, so im guessing ur close....if u wanna meet up...and put ur car next to mine to see the difference...let me know...personally...i never liked chrome...i used to have an audi and had alloys on it....but...when i saw the chromes on my IS...i fell in love with it...and it looks sweet....IMO as long as u have rims that look good, chrome looks best...on black expecially...

IMO, chromed stock wheels are sharp looking. $400 to chrome your wheels, not a bad deal.

I personally think chrome wheels are very, very tacky. If anything I would get my wheels powder-coated or get either the ISPs or G-Spyders.

In circa 1980s, I would fully agree. JM Lexus has a factory chrome wheel option that they push and sell a lot of. I have seen many stock chrome wheels at JM on several of the late model Lexus. Looked pretty sharp. G-Spider, ISP, or after market sharp, ah, no. But if the OP can get it done for only $400, sharper than plain ol' stock. Again, each to their own.

One of the most personal decisions, and up to the individual. Personally, I'm not a fan of chrome rims on a sporty type car that wants to have some claim on performance. It's too dressy for me. But there is no right or wrong. With the '08's now having the liquid graphite style finish I'd look carefully at the stock ones before jumping at the chrome rims. But just choose the one that blows wind up your skirt. It's all good. Just depends if you are going for the dressy look or performance look.

I'm happy with the G-Spiders with the liquid graphite finish.

Yea if you want to see chrome stock rims, just look at ben's car, one of the cleanest stockers w/chrome we have on this forum.

Pretty even vote so far. I'm not a chrome fan at all. If there was an IS available with no chrome at all I would be all over that.....

That's why you get white, to hide the chrominess.

There's a place near me that advertises $425 w/exchange. However, be careful. They charge an extra $75 for the caps and lugs. It's still a deal if you want chrome - especially in light of what the dealers will ding you for them. For me, they might be justified solely on how much easier they are to get the frickin' brake dust off!!!!

I thought they might be too flashy, but I like em. When I see a car with stock, especially 07 stock, looks "Mazda plain" to me. The liquid graphite is cool, but I still pick chrome over that. But hey, personal decision.
