Picked up my special order last night :)
Got over to the dealer around 7pm last night, didn't get out till 9... they'd never seen a sport package before so I actually had the "product specialist" asking -me- questions, which was kinda funny... they also were a little surprised with the NO DEALER PREP request but had no trouble complying with it... car had 7 miles on it when I sat down in it the first time 
Removed all the interior plastic this morning... holy cow they put a lot on there...
Anyway, a few pictures below... it's a 2008 Black Sapphire/Cashmere IS350 with Sport Package, XM, and Mark Levinson WITHOUT Navigation.
My special order experience was -fantastic- compared to most of the stories I've heard here, so if anyone on the east coast wants to go this route lemme know and I'll put you in touch with the sales manager I was dealing directly with.

Car is lowered 1/2 an inch, plus you get the aluminum interior trim instead of the wood while still getting all the lux package options (heat/cool memory seats, power tilt/telescope, HIDs, rain sensing wipers, etc...everything but the power rear sunshade)... metal pedals...and aluminum door sill plates. The non-visual changes are the firmer springs/shocks.
One guy said that the dealer prep team was annoyed they didn't get to drive it
Warning- people who think nav is the best option ever should skip the next part, I mean no offense to em, it's just my opinion
I didn't get Nav because it's $3000 more for an option that lowers resale value and does less than my $500 Garmin unit I already owned, plus costs 4x more to update the maps each year
In exchange the only things I'd gain would be the backup camera (which on this small a car doesn't seem that useful) and being able to watch movies while stopped, which I also can't imagine usng much. If excellent aftermarket nav systems weren't available cheaply I'd absolutely have opted for Nav, but they are.

heh, didn't take pics before the plastic came off... I should've taken some of the huge pile of plastic I removed though!
I placed the order in early July, a week or so before the cutoff for the month... car came into port on 9/30 in florida, arrived at the dealer this past Wed. night but I didn't get to pick it up until Friday after work...the guy I special ordered with was out Thursday and I wanted to make sure I delt with him since he'd done such a great job through the whole process.
